A traditional tool for grating daikon radish into coarse pieces. The bamboo grater preserves more moisture and fibers, resulting in a richer flavor. Fresh, crispy grated daikon pairs perfectly with hot pots and cold noodles.
The grater's name "Onioroshi" (literally "demon teeth" in Japanese) comes from its bamboo blades resembling a demon's teeth. Unlike metal graters, bamboo's low thermal conductivity allows for coarse grating of daikon radish, apples, cucumbers, carrots, and more. This gentler grating method keeps more fibers intact and retains moisture, creating a fluffier, crunchier texture with enhanced flavor.
This grater is made of wood and is NOT dishwasher safe.
