Learn how to use your knife safely and efficiently.
In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of using a kitchen knife. Our instructor will demonstrate how to set up an efficient workspace, and show you how to grip and cut with your knife. You will then be guided through slicing, dicing, and oblique cuts on carrots, onions, celery, and herbs, with tips on how to apply these techniques to other ingredients. Finally, we will answer any lingering questions you have about using your knife, and help you pick out any gear you might need to get the most out of your knife.
Date & Time
Each class will be about 2 hours and will be held about once a month. Due to the space, class sizes are limited to 4 people.

Location
This class will be held in our Sharpening Annex located at 1526 NE Alberta Street, Portland, OR 97211.
Materials
We will supply everything you need for the class, including a loaner knife, cutting board, ingredients, and containers to take home your prepped veggies. If you already have a sharp general-purpose knife at home, we highly encourage you to bring it. Please also feel free to bring your own containers to take ingredients home.
Afterwards
Hang out after the class to receive 10% off everything in the store, and take your prepped ingredients home to make something delicious!
