Takefu Knife Village

Takefu Knife Village is a workshop complex in Echizen (Fukui), Japan, created to preserve and revitalize traditional knife craftsmanship by bringing multiple smiths together in a shared space. Founded in response to the decline of local blade-making in the late 20th century, it helped unify artisans under one identity while modernizing design and global appeal.

Today it’s a major working hub for renowned makers including Yu Kurosaki, Yoshimi Kato, Ikeda Takumi (Anryu), Takeshi Saji, Nao Yamamoto, and Hideo Kitaoka.
