Misuzu Hamono is a kitchen knife company that follows the traditional manufacturing method of Miki - a town in Hyogo Prefecture known for its blacksmithing. They offer a wide range of products, including high-quality knives with exceptional hardness for craftsmen, as well as versatile knives suitable for both professionals and households. Misuzu prioritizes "sharpness" and "usability", and each knife is meticulously handmade.
The original stainless steel kitchen knife was invented by Shinji Suzuki, the founder of Sanjuzu Cutlery, in 1946. Suzuki had the idea of using stainless steel, which does not rust, as a material for kitchen knives. He successfully produced the first "rust-resistant kitchen knife with excellent cutting performance" in Japan by sandwiching stainless steel on both sides of the blade. Even today, under the name Misuzu, their knives continue to be used in public facilities and countless households, more than half a century later.
