Learn how to sharpen and maintain your pruners in this hands-on workshop hosted by Arium Botanicals and taught by our experienced sharpeners. We’ll cover pruner anatomy and proper function, along with practical techniques for cleaning, sharpening, oiling, and adjusting tension so your tools perform reliably.
Bring your favorite pair of pruners and we will provide the tools and guidance to help you restore their edge. The workshop focuses primarily on bypass (secateur-style) pruners, though participants are also welcome to bring Japanese-style garden shears or anvil-type pruners, and we will help you approach sharpening them appropriately.
The workshop fee includes a rust eraser and a #1000 grit pruner sharpening stone, so you can continue maintaining your tools at home. Additional care supplies and gardening tools will be available to purchase during the Seisuke Knife pop-up at Arium on Saturday, March 28.
