Ohira Natural Stones are some of the most common natural whetstones, but come with a great pedigree and lower price point due to their large supply. With high hardness, decent cutting power, and solid feedback these are a great awesado stone to have in the repertoire. With their fine particle size and high hardness, Ohira are perfect for final edge finishing on knives and razors. They can be great polishing stones, providing a near-mirror kasumi polish, but will be slower than softer varieties.

(Natural stones are all unique and vary in grit, hardness, cutting power and feedback. We do our best to describe them accurately, but variations make it hard to give them an analogous grit rating)
Due to limited supply and unique nature of natural stones, there are no returns or exchanges. (Each stone is different and may vary from product photos)
Type 40
The type of stone will refer to the overall size and weight of the stone. A smaller number will refer to a larger stone.
(Historically this was in reference to how many stones one could carry at a time. The larger the stone the less of them one could carry.)
US Domestic Shipping
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout. All orders over $200 ship for free. Please note, all shipping delivery times listed are in addition to our standard order processing time of 1-2 business day.
USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 business days)
Ground Advantage packages are delivered in 2-5 business days and include USPS Tracking. Orders over $300 will be given Signature Confirmation and will require a signature upon delivery. Signature Confirmation can be waved if requested.

USPS Priority Mail (2-3 business days)
Priority Mail service includes tracking and delivery in 2-3 business days. Orders over $300 will be given Signature Confirmation and will require a signature upon delivery. Signature Confirmation can be waved if requested.

USPS Priority Express (1-2 business days)
The cut-off time for USPS Priority Express is 10am PST. Express orders placed after 10am or on the weekend will be shipped out the following business day.
